Lunadell Studio is a small Tasmanian workshop focused on considered, long lasting furniture. Each piece is built by hand, one project at a time, from carefully selected local timbers.

Lunadell Studio started as a small idea tied to a name I kept coming back to. “Lunadell” mixes a bit of family history with the quiet places I’ve always worked from. It’s simple, steady, and holds the same feel I want in every piece that leaves the studio. Nothing loud. Nothing overdone. Just clean, honest work built with care.

I’m Huw, and I run Lunadell Studio on my own. I’ve always been drawn to hands-on work, clear lines, and the satisfaction of building something that lasts. The studio gives me a place to focus on that. Every project gets my full attention, from the first sketch to the final finish. Custom Orders

Most Lunadell Studio work is custom. The process is straightforward and designed to keep you clear on price, timing, and what your piece will look like before anything is cut.

How the process works

  1. 1 Send through a rough idea of what you are wanting built, along with your room size and any photos that help.
  2. 2 We talk through function, storage, and finishes, then confirm a rough size and timber selection.
  3. 3 You receive a clear quote and time frame. For larger work, you can see a simple digital visual before you commit.
  4. 4 A deposit locks in your spot in the build schedule. The piece is then built in the Lunadell Studio workshop.
  5. 5 Delivery and installation are available across Southern Tasmania for most pieces.

Shipping and Delivery

Every Lunadell Studio piece is packed and handled with care. Delivery options depend on the size of the piece and where you live.

Southern Tasmania delivery

Larger pieces such as tables and benches are personally delivered and placed in your home across greater Hobart and Southern Tasmania. Pricing is confirmed with your quote based on access and distance.

Smaller pieces and boards

Smaller items like serving boards and coat racks can often be shipped elsewhere in Tasmania and interstate. Packaging is reinforced to protect corners, edges, and finishes.

Lead times

Lead time depends on timber availability and workshop schedule. Most custom work sits between three and eight weeks. If you have a deadline, mention it in your enquiry and we will plan around it where possible.

Do you only work with Tasmanian timbers?

The focus is on Tasmanian species such as Huon Pine, Blackwood, Sassafras, Myrtle, and Silver Wattle. If you have a specific timber in mind, it can be discussed as part of your project.

Can you match a piece to existing furniture?

Yes. Photos, measurements, and finish references all help. While timber is naturally varied, designs and proportions can be shaped to sit comfortably alongside what you already have.

How do I care for my piece once it is at home?

Care instructions are supplied with each piece, including how to clean surfaces, lift rather than drag furniture, and manage heat and moisture. If you ever need more advice, you can send photos and questions through email.

Do you build for businesses as well as homes?

Yes. Lunadell Studio works with small businesses on reception counters, meeting tables, waiting room tables, and branded boards. If you are exploring something for your space, mention it in your enquiry.
